Well my little plot is proving to be producing a bumper crop. The beetroots are amazing bundles of colour. The garden chips aka peas are sweet and crisp, the lettuce and spinach are prolific (to the point that any visitors gets a bag of it shoved in their hands). The tomatoes are fruiting and slowly ripening, the corn is doubling in height each night and I even have capsicums and courgettes joining the party. All in all you could say I’m pretty chuffed on it.
Weeding is not so fun, but a grubber is my new best friend, it saves bending as much. The combination of old sawdust and manure from the stable seems to be working a treat, which is a very pleasant surprise (I thought it might all blow away). The only thing I’m disappointed about is my berry crop, they strangely all seem to be falling off the plants before ripening fully…. I wonder why
